Responsibilities:
· Develop a strategy for the Indian market within the Global Markets division
· Establish a trading floor and then assume the Head of Trading role:
- Oversee operations of a trading business, manage positions, assess risk, ensure compliance with regulations, and drive profitability
- Analyze market trends, liquidity, and other factors to determine optimal positions and adjust them as necessary
· Initiate decision-making and implement trades to enable the bank to tactically invest/hedge across platforms while focusing on risk-adjusted returns:
- Manage the whole process of hedging to protect asset value a) through exchanges in India and in global exchanges, and b) by entering into OTC deals with corporates, probing avenues via Gift City or Interbank Market on a back-to-back basis by signing ISDA and CSA agreements & exchanging VMs
- Manage the whole process of investment (Exchanges/OTC) as an instrument in providing real returns: fixed income securities — GOI, Quasi Govt, and highly-rated corporates\\structured finance to Quasi Govt and highly-rated corporates\\operations with gold, silver, and other commodities
- Assist foreign portfolio investors in investing and raising money from and to capital markets, and manage the trade balance
· Develop and execute OTC products for FDI (Russian corporates and financial institutions which set up new ventures and/or build on existing capacity by extending debt) as well as for Indians exporting to Russia in realizing payments against Russian ruble
· Potentially leverage the existing business relationship between Russia and a third party country and the trade dependency between a third party country and India
· Evaluate the feasibility of utilizing stablecoins or digital currencies as an alternative settlement option in the future
· Onboard brokers, custodians, exchanges, etc.
· Develop investment approaches and internal regulation documents
· Solve strategic and legal challenges (in collaboration with the client relations, compliance, legal, accounting, operating, and other internal teams as well as external consultants) that may arise while executing the above-mentioned tasks
The successful candidate will play a vital and accountable role in all aspects of origination and execution across different sectors and products.
Requirements:
· 10+ year experience in derivatives and fixed income trading, including an extensive track-record of executed OTC transactions as well as working with exchange-traded instruments
· Deep practical knowledge of money markets, G-secs, bonds & debentures, OTC FX derivatives, offshore derivative instruments (ODIs), structured products and related SEBI, RBI FEMA regulations
· Professional skills in asset pricing
· Developed professional communication skills
· Fluent written and spoken English
· Degree in economics or finance from a top university
· Master of Business Administration (MBA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation
