Important Notices for Internet Banking Users
These are some recommended steps that you should follow to ensure the security of your Online Banking:
- Do not write down your Online banking login or password anywhere. Do not record your password in an easily recognizable format. Never leave your log-in details with your online security device.
- Never share your Online Banking password with anyone. We would like to bring it to your notice that Sberbank or Sberbank’s employees will never ask you to share your password.
- Be wary of suspicious e-mails wherein personal security details are requested. Sberbank will never send e-mails asking for confidential information. If you receive an e-mail requesting your Online Banking details such as your log In, password, account number, etc. Please do not reply to such emails.
- Choose a password that is easy for you to remember, but difficult for others to guess (for example, birthdates or «abc123» are easy to guess). Passwords that contain a combination of letters and numbers are generally more difficult to guess (for example, «s5m3zl2h»).
- Make sure your computer is always protected with the latest antivirus and firewall software. Download updates regularly to ensure you have the latest protection.
- Do not use the same Online Banking password for other services. Your password should be unique to Sberbank Online Banking.
- Disable the feature on your computer or browser that remembers login details. Regularly check your accounts. If you have any doubts about transactions, contact the bank immediately.
- Keep your system and web browser up to date. Manufacturers often release security patches when vulnerabilities are found in their systems and browsers. It is advisable that you check with your software provider for these updates regularly.
- Always log out after using Online Banking. Click on the Log Out button and never leave your computer unattended while you are logged in to the service.
- Monitor your account activity by checking your actual balances and statements on regular basis. This will help you quickly detect fraudulent transactions, if any.
