How long has Sberbank been operating in India?

Sberbank has been operating in India since 2010 with its New Delhi branch. A new branch was opened in Mumbai, the financial capital of India, in 2023. It is a licensed bank by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) and categorized as a Scheduled Category -1 Bank, having its own infrastructure in place to provide banking services.

In which currencies can remittances be made or received?

Sberbank can send and receive money transfers in the national currencies of India and Russia, i.e., rupees and rubles. When funds are sent from Russia from a ruble or rupee account, they are credited to the counterparty’s rupee account. When funds are sent from India from a rupee account, they can be credited to either a rupee or ruble account of the counterparty. If contracts are denominated in currencies other than rupees and rubles, transactions are also done in the national currencies, and the conversion rate should be fixed additionally.

How can clients operate their accounts?

Sberbank provides internet banking services to its clients to operate their accounts remotely. Clients can also operate their accounts through offline modes like RTGS/NEFT.

Yes, Sberbank Branch in India runs full-fledged operations in India and can open credit lines to its clients – Indian entities.

Can Sberbank handle third-party transactions?

Yes, Sberbank can handle third-party transactions.

Since we have a contract in USD/Euro/Other currency, do we get eBRC in Ruble or USD?

eBRC will be issued in the same currency in which the shipping bill is filled/generated.

For eBRC issuance, do we need to register Sberbank AD code?

No, Sberbank AD code registration is not required and will take AD code transfer only for those shipping bills that are not handled by the existing AD bank. However, if AD code issuance is required, Sberbank can issue the AD Code as well.

Can Sberbank handle Foreign Direct Investments (FDI)/Overseas Direct Investment (ODI) remittances?

Yes, Sberbank can assist with these transactions and help comply with regulations.

How can we get internet credentials?
