42% of Russian companies face yearly cyberattacks, survey reveals
Why is this relevant? The findings reveal which cybersecurity tools are most used by Russian clients, highlighting varying levels of cybersecurity readiness.
A recent survey conducted by Garda Group has provided insight on the state of cybersecurity preparedness among Russian businesses. The study, which polled 300 company representatives, revealed that 42% of firms face cyberattacks approximately once a year, while 37% encounter them more frequently.
Alarmingly, around 29% of respondents are not yet equipped to automate their threat response processes. A mere 6% have fully automated systems that operate without the need for intervention by IT security specialists.
The most prevalent cyber threats reported were phishing (in nearly 80% of cases), DDoS attacks (50%), and social engineering (45%). Interestingly, none of the surveyed companies mentioned cloud vulnerabilities as a significant concern.
Despite the reluctance of some, 65% of respondents either expressed willingness to automate or have already partially automated their threat response processes.
Popular security tools employed by IT and cybersecurity professionals include firewalls (FW/NGFW) at 67%, with half of the respondents using integrated Web Application Firewalls (WAF). Over 60% have orchestration and incident management systems (SIEM/SOAR/IRP) in place. Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions, and Threat Intelligence (TI) services are also widely used.
